Sniper rests his over trained eye,

Sights locked on who will die

In magnified glass, scene set to freeze

Trigger finger primed to lightly squeeze

Sniper realigns the narrow cross hairs

Breathing controlled, coldly he stares

Distant forehead in range and tripod still

Again the moment has come when he must kill

Two spasms, two quick bullets in flight

Striking the victim in the dead of night

Victim in the distance gracefully falls

Sniper silently gathers his deadly tools

Had the sniper stopped and stayed

He would have seen passers by offering aid

Alas their Christian attempts were all in vain

Both qualified bullets struck the victims brain

A government funded killing machine

Trained to erase past evils he'd seen

Unrecognisable, an elderly man sucks on his pipe

For over fifty years, his sole job has been to snipe
