Thumped was the heart
carried wild on the breeze
Tuned by the wind
and a Steinway's keys
Cymbals dance in a manner
seen frightening
Snapped snares launch
purple lightening

Damp rhythm left
the ticker limp and low
On a collision course
for a liquid rainbow
Spectrum splashed
as the pair forcibly meet
The heart release's
a thunderous beat

Unblown instrument
splutters and pops
Cardiac movement
suddenly stops
Sunken pulse
left the sky dark red
Silence announced
the music was dead
