When the last cloud

Spills contents of grey

Its edges fray and firm rays

From a punishing sun

End their dream

Of eternal drift

What then

When the final cog

Turns one last time

Hungry for oil

A longing for production

Silent demands

Unmet by industry

What then

When your last kiss

Echoes in a canyon of despair

The sweet taste

Dissolved by time

Sour wind seeks

To steal what was ours

What then
