Night demons slinking
Through the dark and horrid night,
Night creatures closing in
In a seamy, torrid night.

Foul beasts descending
Upon their sleeping prey,
As dreams turn into nightmares
As they fear the end of day.

Night demons calling
In a voice to chill the marrow,
Terror running down your spine
As eyes begin to narrow.

Yellow eyes are staring
From a corner of the room,
Monstrous snickers ring out
From within an evil gloom.

Slinking, hopping, slithering
Is heard from in the darkness,
Malignant fiends are crawling
Round the beds of those at rest.

Noxious fiends slither
Like awful giant snails,
Around a sleeping victim’s head
They leave horrid slimy trails.

Night demons yowling
With a noise to scare the dead,
Night victims quivering
Too afraid when all is said:

Too afraid to go to sleep
As night visitors mumble,
In breathless monstrous voices
As round the room dead stumbles.
