My life is a page in a novel

That I didn't write;

When death comes I won't fear it

I'll keep going into the light.

The leaves fall then the snow comes

It starts raining then endless sun;

The cycle, neverending

Keeps going even after I'm gone.

I hear blood fall on the soil

During battle in a foreign land;

Their cries can be heard clearly

Across the scorching sand.

Please stop this terrible suffering

With so much death comes so many tears;

And the children, hidden safely

Cannot silence their nagging fears.

Maybe one day, maybe someday

There'll be peace throughout all the earth;

On that day there will be

Celebration, jubilation, and endless mirth.

There will be no more blood shed

Only love and the passing of time;

This won't be something easy

But the result will be something sublime.
