02/10/2010 - A Long Hike Through Life

Walking along this path
As the angel devils surround us
Inevitably burning
Slowly fading away

One day
Feeling so real in this surreal dream of mine
Basking in the unpredictable rays of life
One day
Indian summer
Forever lost
There is no map for this road we walk
Tired and confused with no certain answers
But still I continue

Steep mountains rise, chilling snow storms scourge, cliffs unexpectedly drop
Once in a while, a beautiful waterfall is revealed
Smile as the deer frolic and the warm sunlight gleams
Once in a while

True happiness
Instead of the darkness and emptiness that is my life
Letting go of the past
Too many memories, too much pain, confines me in this cage of me
Weary and teary eyed I search for meaning in this pain
As I am repeatedly knocked down before I can get back up again
But still I continue
