Personal experience with the Three Words.

The first time I said “I love you,” to a boy, the response was “You better.” I did not say it first. It had been about 5 days in. Soon, I left. I was 13. I started to feel afraid.

The second time, it was an attempt to keep a distance relationship exciting. It peaked, and then fell. Then I left. I was 14. I started to feel skeptical.

The third time, I didn’t say it at all. The conversation was on the phone, as follows: Him: “I look forward to seeing you.” Me: “And I, you.” Him: “...I love you, too.” Later, I left. I was 14. I started to feel uncomfortable.

The fourth time, I had denied him already. He said he loved me, and I said I needed more time. When I said it, it was in response, and I started crying. I was 15. I thought I was happy, but I was truly hopeful. I said it many times after, and they peaked and then fell. Then I left. I was 18. I started to feel like I didn’t even believe.

The fifth time, I did not say it. But I really felt it and wish I did. Then he left. I was 18. I started to feel .
