Metaphor

Lost in the tide

Head beneath the sea

The screams turn into bubbles

Cries are muffled pleas

Heart held in both hands

Delicate, yet so strong,

A person will give it up willingly,

Knowing it would be broken all along

Thinking about the coastguard,

Finally breathing in air

But sinking into the blue again

Life can be so unfair

Crying out in anguish

Avoiding an ex-lover’s stare

Though when all starts to get better

Memories lead to despair

Finally lost in an ocean

Knowing you’re not coming back

Bubble, bubbles everywhere

And the world fades into black

Unable to take it any longer

Filled with sadness and strife

Close your eyes tightly

Here comes the knife
