When I first saw the line "You may say I'm cruel, but I beg to disagree" I thought about affairs and cheating.
Sort of like when a man cheats on a woman with another, leaves her, and then comes back saying he is sorry and she is REALLY the true love of his life. The woman would probably know enough to push him away.
That where I got the idea about how to write this poem.

You May Say That I'm Cruel but I Beg to Disagree.

Forgive for the things I’ve done

And for the things I made you go through

My heart was so weak

Nothing left to do

I was just shocked

So horrified

I was swept into disbelief

Could not believe you lied

Although you tried to make it up

To hide away the shame

Nothing could ever erase

All the lurid pain

I tried to cast you out

Of what I had of a life

But you always came back in

Only bringing me strife

I’m finally ready to move on

Away from hardships

Away from betrayal

And your cheating lips

You say I’m cruel

But I beg to disagree

I let you go

Because you did those things to me
