I told myself I’d write about you every single day
I told myself that maybe I’d win you over with all the words that I could say
But I’m running out of poetic rhymes because I think I might’ve said them all
Maybe I’ll just keep repeating myself until my love is where you fall
But I fear so deeply that these words I write will quickly break and perish
Like the Autumn leaves, they might fall away and lose all their meaning and their purpose
I’d hate to find that I’ve been wasting ink, and all the breaths my lungs could take
Wasting them for several hours, for several. several days
Trying to decipher my thoughts, and conjure up the perfect thing to write
And maybe if I did, then I could win you for the night
But I still wonder if the things I say would ever change your mind
Because I know that I am only speaking to the deaf, and to the blind
