Sitting in my home,
Thinking of a boy
So far from me in everyway.
I try to be there for him,
But the distance is too great.
What can I do to help a friend,
When their troubles lie 2000 miles away.
The boy I think I love,
Longs to run in the fields,
Where his life used to lie.
He longs to take those long walks on the beach with his girl,
The ones she so enjoys.
What can I do when his problems lie so far away?
Why do I love this boy when the distance is so great?
Friends till the end,
Is what we say,
But how I wish we could be something more,
Something a little stronger…
But what can I do,
When he lies 2000 miles away?
It just might be that the distance is too great.
