I stumbled upon this older poem and although it is short and not very poetic it really made me think of my life as it is now. I hope it makes you think as well!

I think this will be a better phase in life, removing blemishes from the past like taking off a mask
I can't wait to see what lies beneath what I always hid behind; big smile and bright eyes and words that amounted to 'of course i will oblige'
Time to move forward past the pain of broken hearted from first love ending or loss of what should have been a first born descending
No more trying to force friends to be friends and once-friends-but-not-so-much-anymore to be friends again i'm goin to let it all just...happen
Time to wake and see the sunrise instead of the snooze button every a.m. time to get up get out and do something
No more letting myself give in to the pressure that is of course always mounting up around me, its time to just...breathe
I think this will be a better phase in life, removing blemishes from the past...no more hiding behind a mask
