Oh holy land of the Philistines, origin of all Monotheism,
A land of salvation for the Abrahamics; Christianity, Islam and Judaism,
The promised land, which gave much hope, to the children of Israel,
Evolved to be a putrid place where all harmony would fail.
Promised to those ruled by the Pharaohs iron fist,
Are those same people whose descendants are now shackled by the wrist,
It begs the question, are they born, just deemed to be oppressed?
Or are they prisoners of their own land, with no voice to show protest?
Tit-for-tat killings on the banks of Galilee,
Children being murdered on the streets for all to see,
Men becoming martyrs, women being killed,
Oh holy scriptures, tell us all, is this what God had willed?
People labelled terrorists for defending the land they own,
The seed of hatred between Israel and Palestine, has well and truly been sewn,
Faiths of peace and utmost similiarity, used to live hand in hand,
But now we kill our neighbours first, unashamed of the blood we spill on the sand.
Born with no concept of fear, boundaries remain unfazed,
Rest in peace Philistines, hope will come, to the children you once finely raised.
We share the same ancestors, prophets and idols,
And yet cannot share the land we did for many years,
A constant struggle against war, fighting for survival,
No hope, no prosperity, just numbed pain and tears.
The blame lies neither between Palestine and Israel, Muslims and Jews,
Hidden in the propaganda we hear imbedded in our news,
We in the west are blind, to the inhumanity we created,
Intervening in foreign affairs, and then leaving them to be slated.
Under-resourced, rife with corruption, a disease-ridden nation,
Makes you question the morality of man, Gods finest creation.
Constant prayers to the same God, from the same ethnic origin,
Escaping the trauma from the very same, cursed sovereign,
Only to turn their tropical paradise, into a hellish kind of place,
Has the devil arrived on earth, wearing a human face?
Oh State of Israel, Palesine, West bank Gaza,
Grant liberation to the people, forever searching for an answer,
Differentiate not by Synagogue, Mosque or Steeple,
And in the famous words of Nelson Mandela,
"Only a free man can truly negotiate, the future of his people".
