I feel my layers fall away

And become me and only me

I am not trying to hide anymore

It's just to much to try to keep

To hide behind a mask

A mask of lies

Of half told truths

A mask I would love

To burn and throw away

But it's so hard

To drop the pretenses

After living with them

For so many years

And I am still holding on

To all my fears

What if they reject my truth

And leave me alone

To fend for myself

In a world

That no one should be alone in
