I'm studying war poetry in my English class, and thought I would write this. I have no idea why I wrote it, but neither the less, enjoy. (:

I sit and think and wonder why,
And gently I start to cry,
Thinking of the wondrous past,
Knowing they will be the last,
Moments of my life fade dim,
Even through the flowers grim,
Remembering joyfully the past we had,
Thinking of walking through a meadow land,
But now the flowers rot away,
Leaving nothing but your decay,
They lay among the wet cold ground,
Leaving us without a sound,
Until the brother comes to the door,
And gives me such a tiresome bore,
I look among the flowers now,
I now know why they'd frown.
