Sage lived in a small boring town, wishing something exciting would happen untill one willow tree would change that.

Sage sighed, watching the clock slowly tick on as the minutes went by. She glanced out the window, rain. Lately it seemed that all they got was rain. The tv in the living room which her mother was watching blabbered on about some huge storm. Sage walked to her mother "Could I go outside? Its so boring in here... theres nothing to do!" Her mother sighed "Bring your umbrella with you dear and don't be out long, I don't want you to catch a cold." Sage smiled and ran up to her room, swinging on her coat and grabbing her umbrella. As she raced out the door her mother said something about staying safe but she didn't pay attention, to happy to be doing something outside for the first time in what felt like forever. She opened her umbrella and walked down the street of the small town. Not many people had cars so she had decided long ago it was safe even though her mother had told her to not walk in the road. She continued to walk until she reached the edge of town and into the willow forest. After playing among the trees for a while she fell asleep at the roots of a tree. She woke up and blinked, looking around confused. She now saw a beautiful cliff which she was on top with a waterfall, on the bottom appeared to be a little town, much like her own. She climbed down off the mountain and went into the town, curiosity shoving away any confusion or fear she felt from being there. A boy walked up to her smiling "Welcome!" he said happily. "Welcome to where exactly?" she said looking around. "This is where ever you want!" He replied. She blinked "I don't get what you mean..." He continued to smile "Think of something you want!" She tilted her head a bit not really understanding what he meant but thought of a puppy, her mother never let her have one. She looked down, a puppy she had imagined now happily barking up at her. "Whoa..." she exclaimed. The boy laughed "Do you wana play?" Sage glanced back at the top of the mountain, for some reason it seeming even higher up with steeper ledges. "Maybe i should get back to my house... my mom said not to be long..." The boy gave a slight frown "Come on, just for a little?" "Fine, but after that I really should get going." she said, beginning to play tag with him. After a few minutes he stopped and looked at her "Are you going to go back to your mom now?" he frowned. She blinked "My who?..." The boy smiled widely "Nothing! Come on, lets explore the town!" Sage smiled "Ok!" she raced after him happily. Sage's mother sobbed, finding sage's body after a large flood. The town grieved for the mothers lose and buried Sage underneath the willow tree she had fallen asleep at.
