After waking up from a night out, I found it funny how your sense wake up to. Jotting down some notes once thinking this, I wrote this poem/spoken word piece.

I hope you enjoy it.

Sense Sleep To

Awoken, by the sound off rain,

Banging down on the transparent wall,

A pleasurable annoyance,

Baggy eyed I roll out off bed,

Feet twitching, as the icy cold floor greats the naked skin,

Head, tilts back,

As the bakery waft reaches the room….Croissants....Bread rolls....Cornish pasties,

Eyes open wide, as if injected with adrenaline,

Quickly to be shut, with the morning sun, breaking through the clouds, and through the venetian blinds,

Stomach gurgles, as the urge for food intensifies,

Last nights kebab doesn’t seem like a bad option,

With flat Dr. Pepper to wash it down,

Reaching for the fork, An important eating weapon,

I think to myself, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’
