She didn't worry about yesterday, she didn't worry about tomorrow.
All she needed was this moment, today without the sorrow.
She didn't need to know the time, she didn't own a clock.
She already knew she was beautiful, she didn't need to look.
She lost herself in a simple poem and sang along with songs.
She didn't worry about dying, she knew where she belonged.
She never wore dark clothing, and she wore mismatched socks.
She didn't care what people thought, it was only god she saw.
Her walls were painted bright and colors covered all.
She loved her life the way it was.
She stood firm and tall.
She held her head up high, and helped when strangers fell.
She comforted the crying children; she tried to feed them all.
She saw the hurt in people's eyes; she tried to bring a smile.
People told her she couldn't make it; she didn't think they were right.
She came with determination; she put up a good fight,
The last thing she saw was the hospital lights.

So why isn't this girl real?
Why doesn't she have a name?
What do you have to say to yourself before you greet the day?
What happened to the smile that you wore for us to see?
What happened to your "I love you."?
What happened to your belief?
What happened to "You're beautiful?"
What happened to the light?
You say it's at the end of the tunnel, so why'd you take the flight?
So what if tomorrow wasn't soon to come?
Would you show your love for us?
Or would you just walk away?
