When you fall to your knees because life’s dealt you another bad blow,

find the strength to stand up, refuse to stay low.

Hold your head up high and be proud of your choices, right or wrong.

For it’s in the living and trying and living and crying that we learn to be strong.

When another storm’s brewing that you can’t seem to make stop,

and you’re terrified of drowning in the rain, hold on tight to what you know is right

and let it carry you through the pain.

When you’re perched on a ledge and your dreams feel out of reach, don’t be afraid to try.

For it’s in the living and trying, and living and crying that we learn how to spread our wings and fly.

When you fall short of your destination and you’re ashamed of where you have landed,

search deep within your heart and find the right path, without stopping to count the cost.

For it’s in the living and trying, and living and crying that we truly learn if we are lost.

When you find your rightful place but can’t see the light for the darkness and night,

be patient, believe in yourself, and never give up hope, or lose sight of the dawn.

For it’s in the living and trying and living and crying that we learn to have faith and cope.
