Its about savoring life and living it to its fullest.

Life’s not always easy, you’ve got to be strong,

learn to take what’s coming and just keep pushing on.

It’s not about who wins the battle or even wins the war,

It’s about loving every minute and knowing that there’s more.

Life’s about the journey and which path you choose to take.

It’s about all the emotions from the decisions that you make.

It’s about the tears you’ve shed and which moments you have savored,

It’s stopping to smell the roses, and the colors that you favored.

The destination should be irrelevant in your desire to succeed,

instead the deciding factor should be helping those in need.

Lastly, it’s knowing you’ve reached your fullest potential,

never caring about the superficial or things inconsequential.

Thanks for the encouragement, today's my first day and I am still learning the ropes. Like I just figured out how to respond! It only took me all day. I have been to your sight and started reading. I believe I posted a comment.

Thank. I like simplicity. I like to let the words speak for themselves. I hope I am responding to the person who just wrote me. I am internet illiterate. I don't have a myspace, or facebook, have no idea what a twitter is and yes I know shocking but have never blogged.

It's never corny, and doesn't make you a geek. I was a cheerleader in high school, class President, homecoming and all that jazz and I was reading and writing at your age. I think I'm still a pretty cool adult although my 16 and 18 year old may disagree. The point is, you can like more than one thing in life and if you want to improve your writing skills you have to read all kinds of stuff. Remind your friends when they call you a dork, that songs are just poems that are sang, so do they think Taylor Swift and other young singers are dorks too?

this was cute, i love your rhymes (i admit going to rhymezone.com when i can't find one, but shhh don't tell anyone). when i finish college i want to go into the peace corp, although my family keeps advising me against it, because i want to help people, so i see what you mean, that should be the goals of life, to be compassionate, to be greatful, and never to be complacent. splendiferous.

Thank you. I think the Peace corp is a noble aspiration. (Shh don't tell your family.) I will have to check out rhymezone .com. I didn't know there was a place and sometimes I get stuck. There is no such think as cheating. The more you read, research, look up words, read others work the better writer we become. I say use all tools avlb.

Thank you. Published would be wonderful, but there are so many great writers out there whom deserve to be published, maybe someday. Appreciate your thoughtful comments.

I have said quite a few times on here that writing can be a vehicle for several different things, including self-expression. Seems as though you've found its therapeutic value. Considering your line of work, it is amazing that you can keep up your spirit. I applaud your inner strength and resiliency.
I see you and Donna Cavanagh are mutual fans. She is awesome, isn't she? Were you not already a fan of hers, I would recommend her without reservation. because has always been able to left my spirit. Any one of her works is well worth reading.
I have a new story up that I hope you'll find interesting. It's called 'After The First Breath.'
Thank you for time, and I wish you well.
