WALK THE TALK

Poem by: Pratibha

Summary

This poem is dedicated to my MOM...WHO has always followed in action what she taught us in theory....

When Lydia gave me the word - Walk the talk , a, b, and c...i could think of only MOM....

Then According to Mystory's challenge i got the word "SACRED" and i was delighted ....and decided to combine both the challenges into one poem...hope i do justice to it....

The narrator is MOM....JULIE is my name at home....hee hee...

the snap is of my son guiding my friend UMA's daughter safely through the hustle bustle of a busy town....

WALK THE TALK, JULIE:

Walk the talk honey...altAlways walk your own talk...

Life is short......too short to brood,compare,criticize,whine,hate...

Make it HUGE, Make it worth living, Make it memorable...

Revise your a, b, c and d with me sweetheart...
Taught by us when you were a talkative and sensitive kid eager to grasp...

Come with me...take one step at a time and you would not lose yourself...

a = accept your blessings gracefully and be thankful to GOD for HIS mercy...alt

b = behave like the branch of the tree laden with fruits touching the ground...alt

c = control your WORDS, temptations, pride and anger always...they hurt souls...and GOD resides in the soul of each and every human...

d = devote yourself to your family, friends and duty...selflessly...like an oil lamp in darkness of night...alt

Do not worry about the tiny bud with you...he would follow your foot steps...

So, trust GOD and WALK YOUR OWN TALK...alt

Close your eyes and dedicate yourself in the sacred feet of GOD...

altYOU WOULD SEE LIGHT, YOU WOULD FEEL WARMTH AND EVEN WHEN WE ARE NOT THERE IN THIS WORLD...

THESE SIMPLE a, b c, and d’ s would always guide you through life’s darkest moments...always...

Now, go fly like an eagle without fear...alt

Footnote : I am so apprehensive regarding this poem...even a kid would write better...GEEZ, i Wish i could write poems which rhyme....mine are POEM-STORIES

I AM GRATEFUL TO ALL OF YOU FOR ACCEPTING ME GRACEFULLY AND WITH SO MUCH LOVE THAT I AM OVERWHELMED .....THANK YOU ALL...THANK YOU FOR NEVER MAKING ME FEEL THAT I AM NOT A 'POET' IN TRUE SENSE....I JUST WRITE TO EXPRESS....AND I DON'T KNOW TECHNICAL DETAILS....HOW I WISH I COULD !!

BUT WHEN I READ ALL OF YOURS RESPONSE FILLED WITH LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE, I GET ENCOURAGED AND THE CLOUDS OF DEPRESSION AND SELF PITY GET DISSIPATED.....LIKE THE STORM CLOUDS WHICH GET BLOWN AWAY BY STRONG WIND....IN MY LIFE THE STRONG WIND IS THE SELFLESS LOVE I RECEIVE FROM ALL OF YOU WHICH IS MY LIFE FORCE...
