Sometimes at Night

Without a Light

Lying in my Bed

Clothing hanging on my door

Takes the shape of all I dread

Familiar things turn into

Terrible creatures of the night

And even though I try

With all my might

I think I still might

Lose the fight

So I get up out of bed

With all the fears that I dread

I walk across the floor

Like I never done before

I quiver

I shake

I tremble

I ache

Towards the door

Only to remember

What hung there before
