This poem describes my desperate search for true love. I really do feel this way right now, but hopefully my feelings will be changed next year when I start highschool.

I’ve been alone for most of my life,

With no one to love or hold on to.

Most girls by now have that special someone,

But not me.

I’ve experienced true love once,

But it ended in pain and hurt.

I’m yearning for someone special,

Someone to hold me tight.

I see all those movies,

Where the girl always gets the guy.

It breaks my heart,

Because I feel like it’ll never happen to me.

Almost everyone I know has really experienced love,

But I haven’t, not really.

My heart just feels broken,

Because I feel like nobody knows the real me.

Everybody just thinks that I’m a nerd,

Not a normal American girl.

All I do is study,

Never have fun.

I wish that they would look at the real me,

And see that I’m not what I seem to be.

Maybe if they did,

I could finally find true love.

I feel alone,

Not that I don’t have friends.

I want to be loved so much,

That it breaks my heart when I see couples.

Maybe the start of high school next year,

Will bring a brand new beginning for me.

I can be smart,

But yet be myself.

Maybe I’ll find someone special,

This coming year.

I hope I do,

So that my desperate search may end.
