THE PROLOGUE

( Somewhere In North America )

40 Years After the Merovingian Address

A series of bonfires are being orchestrated in every major district with in G-Sphere number 0003. The largest of which, contained with in District 7, is being overseen by the most powerful political force in the world; The Wrighteous Family. While hordes of Wrighteous Family loyalists toss stacks of literature into the flames, a young boy makes his way to the center of the chaos. The smell of burning paper fills his nostrils, and the heat hits him with more and more force the closer he gets. Sweat starts to develop on his forehead, palms , and chest and his legs begin to buckle as he walked step by step.  Despite the fire, the boy’s perspiration and awkward progress were caused by his fear. He knew what he was doing was wrong. But the order he was given was absolute, there was no escape. Now only inches away from the inferno, the boy’s thoughts go wild and speculate the circumstances of his gravely unfortunate situation.

“ Is this my purpose ? Was I born for this reason alone ? Am I truly living in a world so vain, so cruel, so superficial, so dethatched, that doing something like this is acceptable ? Or dare I say, “expected” ?  I’ve never been a believer in the intangible, but nothing is gained from this initiative. That is unless the point lies in showing off the fact that after millions of years of evolution and technological achievement, we’re all still just a bunch of animals. I always thought I would make a difference in the world and my short time on this planet would be dedicated too --  “

The boys self reflection is interrupted when he notices how quiet it’s gotten. He observes his surroundings and becomes aware that not only have the people around him stopped throwing books into the fire, but they’re also all staring at him. Looking as if they were waiting for something. The boy raises his gaze to where the elites were sitting and, in no surprise, members of the Wrighteous Family were doing the same as everyone else. With his hands shaking, the boy reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a book. As he takes back his arm in a throwing motion, the crowd starts to chant.

“ Do it…………………………………….. Do it………………………………... Do it…………………….. Do it……… Do it……….. Do it, … Do it, Do It, Do It, Do it, Do It, Do It, Do It, Do It, Do it ! “

Sensing the boy’s hesitation, the crowds chanting becomes more aggressive.

“ DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT “

Moments before tossing the book, the boy has a final thought.

“ Anyway, none of that matters now. What I do today will overshadow anything I had planned for the future. Hence forth, Imogen Wrighteous will be known as the person responsible for destroying the last Bible in the world. “
