A poem about how we can misread someone, and regret not telling them how we truly feel. Second Chances

This is a poem I helped my cousin write for a guy she really likes. Sammy, I hope he realizes your feelings for him

We would joke around, telling inside jokes that no one ever knew.
My stomach would cramp, I laughed so hard, when I was with you.

You would tell me the sweetest things like:
"Your the most beautiful in my eyes"

I would blush and cover up, giving you shit like:
"Boy please, just stop with all these lies"

Flirting so much, I would wonder if you were acting real.
You would tell me all the time, "That's really how I feel"

I thought you were just playing with me, I didn't understand.
But now that things are clear, I wish you would just hold my hand.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood, thinking you weren't really into me.
I didn't think that there would ever be 'us', but now I disagree.

I feel so bad about this shit, I cried when I finally knew.
I really do feel the same way, and I hope you still do too.

I want to hold you near, thinking of you, your always in my mind.
Shit happened, that's too bad, but I hope you will still be mine.

I would love a second chance, to be close to you.
I think we should talk again, and when we do...

I promise I'll be the first to tell you
that I really do like you too.
