Friday night,
Driving down the road,
She said, "Stop the car.
There's something you need to know"
He drove 'round the bend,
And pulled off to the side.
He knows whats coming;
Tears creep from his eyes.
"I'm sorry," she said,
"But we can't go on.
I loved you once,
but now tha loves gone."
He reached into his pocket,
Never saying a word.
He took out a note,
And gave it to her.
At that very moment,
Coming 'round the bend,
A drunk driver was speeding,
Bringing the end.
The drunk driver swerved,
Hitting their car.
The drivers side crumpled;
She was thrown far from the car.
He died instantly,
Crushed and twisted.
But she was thrown clear;
She alone lived.
Released from the hospital
And on her way home,
She reached into her pocket,
And there was his note.
She unfolded it slowly,
Not sure what shed find.
Written by his hand,
She found one single line.
Six words were written,
Straight from his heart.
Six simple words
That tore her apart.
She read those six words
And started to cry.
For thos six words said:
"Without your love I would die."
