This is a poem that I wrote when I was thinking about a past relationship and how I wish I could have just erased my memory of it all.

I wish I could fall back into your arms
Forget these past few months
Let you wipe away these tears that I cry
Erase my memory

Why does it have to be so hard for us?
Can’t they just let us live?
Against all the odds in the world
I can’t stand on my own, catch me

Is love ever just strong enough?
Cause I’m tired of fighting
Tarnishing both of our times
This wasn’t what I pictured forever to be

Can we ever just pull through?
To a time where all I have is you
And no problems ever seem to touch me
For your love always surrounds me

What do we do now?
For the dilemma doesn’t lie within
When it’s coming from the outside
Affecting us all the time, no way to hide

How can you not mind what they say?
Secrets, lies, twisting the truth
All I ever wanted to do
Was to always be with you

I wish I could fall back into your arms
Forget these past few months
You are no longer here to wipe away these tears
Erase my memory of what used to be “us”
