Now We're Free From Him

Water has never tasted so sweet

though this is not

The First Time

it penetrates my dried-out pores

He's been molesting my body,

making it wilt

like a flower or a weed

He's been molesting my husband,

my child, my dog.

He's simply disgusting

but superior to us all

And now here's the relief

after fortnights of horror.

Because even Nature

commits Her random acts of kindness

She let Him play,

let Her son play

with us, the dolls

Simple dummies

with no souls

in His careless hands

But now we're free from Him

but not for long

for He is Drought
