My heart soared

For the union-

Couples love,

Finally  made.

But I could not stop the crying;

The tears in my mind,

For the three lonely girls

In a circle of four.

We slept where we fell,

Pretending life was just right.

But when night began to become dawn

Heartache was spoken

In a half-quiet room.

My face to the cold floor,

I listened to you.

I wanted to hold you,

But you aren't mine to hold-

Not child

Nor lover-

Though I feel a bit of both.

I wanted to make you safe,

But I fear I never can.

My love for you,

It's something else-

But I suppose I'll still call it true,

Cause Sugar,

I wouldn't lie to you.
