A poem about a past relationship in which the girl I was dating disappeared without telling me why... I'm sure some can relate... It was quite odd...

The Magician

One minute she was there, the next second she vanished
I thought maybe I'd allow a grace period for her reappearance
It never came...
I sat and waited, until finally my duty as a spectator was over
Feeling abandoned I emptied out of the alleyway exit
How did she do it? What was her secret?
I started to blame myself,
I must have blinked right at the moment she dissolved
Truely a trick to fool my mind, and also my heart
Was it an illusion? Was it ALL an illusion?
No...  It wasn't...
So i continue to buy tickets to her show
I continue to hang on to every moment, gripping the edge of my seat
Biting my nails down to the point where i bleed, sweating in anticipation.
Still... Nothing...
And so i continue to dream
I dream that one day I can crack the code
Decypher the deception of this devious devil
I dream i'll wake up and realize that it was all a fabrication
Every single second...
I'll never forget the magician
One minute she was there, the next second she vanished...
