It’s Mine To Bear

Escaping from the terror there

Gasping in the dark for air

Sobbing for my family’s care

Their lives with me they cannot share

It’s mine to bear

They were taken by calamity

Disaster struck without pity

Now I’m free within this city

It’s mine to bear

Now a choice I must make

To live or die is my fate

To choose to die is a mistake

To live is what I take

It’s mine to bear

My choice is made my future’s there

No longer wondering how it’s fair

My future I shall share

It’s mine to bear
