2 brothers learn a lesson from Santa

ISAIAH AND JAVON'S CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE

Isaiah's favorite holiday is Christmas. Next to 4th of July fireworks and barbeque, Christmas is definitely his favorite. Now that Javon is in kindergarten he knows he can finally explain how Christmas works. They sat down so they could talk. Javon thought they were going to play a video game, but Isaiah told him they had to talk, he needed to explain something to him. Javon said “what, I want to play a video game”. Isaiah said “not now, I am going to tell you all about Christmas.” Just as they settled in to talk there was a knock at the door. Isaiah went to the door, looked out and who could it be knocking but Santa Claus. Isaiah had no idea why Santa Claus would be at their door, he opened the door, said “hello”. Santa Claus said in his jolliest voice “Hello there, I am hear to help you explain to Javon just how Christmas works.”

Santa told Isaiah to go get Mommy so he could ask if they could go with him. Isaiah hurried to get Mommy, who came and was very surprised to see Santa Claus in her living room. He explained he wanted to take them with him, and promised to have them back in time for dinner. Mommy said okay, but they both had to wear jackets, hats and gloves, after all it is cold outside. They rushed to put on their things. They ran out of the house and what should they see but 8 reindeer waiting patiently. Santa said “Isaiah, Javon meet my reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, and my very special reindeer friend named Rudolph.” “Get into my sleigh and the reindeer will fly us to my workshop at the North Pole.” Javon wanted to know how reindeer fly. To this Santa explained “these are magic reindeer and must be able to fly all over the world to deliver presents.” They have to be finished before morning, that way all the children of the world have their presents to open when they get up, in the morning.” We must fly very fast to get all of this work done. They hopped into the sleigh, and with the wink of an eye were flying high in the air. They flew very fast. Before they knew it they were flying over the restaurant where Daddy works. Then they were over highways, tall buildings and lakes, then they were really flying high, way up into the clouds. Javon laughed because the clouds were tickeling his nose. Isaiah told him to sit still, even though he was laughing too! All of a sudden they were in a place that was all covered in snow, Isaiah was glad Mommy made them wear jackets, hats and gloves. The wind was blowing so hard they had to hold onto their hats. They saw lights and a runway. Santa slowed the reindeer down and they gently landed. There was a penguin waiting to greet them. He waved them to them and said “Isaiah, I am so glad to see you, my how you have grown, I am glad you want to show Javon how Christmas works.” They walked with the penguin to a huge crystal building. Isaiah thought this building must be bigger than the IX Center. When they got inside Javon noticed all of these people that are the same size as he is, sometimes it is hard for Javon to be the smallest one in the house, he was glad to see them. Santa explained that these are the elves that work with Santa to make all of the toys for him to deliver to all of the good children of the world on Christmas Eve. Santa took them to the big main room, he told them that this is his workshop and all of the work on toys starts here. He told them there are departments all throughout the workshop, such as the ball department, the video game department, the bike department and the doll department. Isaiah and Javon did not want to see the doll department, that is for girls. They saw the elves hard at work, although they did stop to say a cheerful “hello Isaiah and Javon, we have been wondering when you were going to bring Javon to see how we do things here at the North Pole.”

They walked with Santa into a huge room, full of computers and elves hard at work typing on the computers. Santa explained “this is the computer room.” “Every single girl and boy all over the world is on these lists, they are either good or bad.” Everyday informtion is fed into the computers, finally on Christmas Eve the elves do a final count, who has been naughty and who has been nice.We don't want a naughty child to get a gift, and we certainly do not want a good child not to get a gift.” “Then all the gifts are loaded onto the sleigh and away I go.”

After they finished touring all of the departments at the North Pole Santa took them to the stables where the reindeer stayed. It was warm, the smell of fresh hay was all in the air. Flying reindeer eat magic hay, it smells like Christmas trees. Again Javon started to giggle, yes, this tickled his nose, it was funny.

Finally Santa took them to his house. There they met Mrs. Claus who was waiting for them with cookies and nice hot cocoa with plenty of marshmallow. The cocoa tasted real warm and made their tummies smile inside. The cookies all looked the same b ut they all tasted different. It was wonderful. Javon thought they must be magic cookies, yes, they had to be, this is the North Pole, after all!

After they finished Santa told them it was time to go, they must not be gone too long and worry their mother. They agreed.

Santa took them back to the stable and while the elves got them ready to fly Isaiah and Javon were surprised to learn that reindeer kind of talk. Its not the kind of talk you and I do, but its sort of like a whisper and a grunt and a laugh, but, you can understand everything they say.

Finally, they loaded up into Santa's sleigh, and “whoosh!”, they were off again, high into the sky. It was almost night time, Isaiah was sure they would be late for dinner. Santa said “don't worry, I will have you home in two blinks of an eye.” Javon blinked 2 times, and what do you know, they were landing on their own front lawn.

Their mother came outside to greet them, asking Santa if both of them had been good.

Santa told their mother they had been perfect gentlemen. The brothers said thank you and goodbye to Santa, and so did their mother.

Santa told them they had better be good. He also told them the computer room is the very best computer in the world, he knows everything about every girl and boy in the world. They both shook their heads yes, and said “we will be good Santa, and thank you again.”

As they went into the house Santa's sleigh slowly lifted off. Just as he was taking off Santa yelled to them “be good as god til Christmas Day and all sorts of towys will come your way!” Both of them ran into the house to go and clean their room, and make up their beds.
