A Winter's Night

A night like ebony, heavy snow on the trees;

A beautiful darkness that inspires vivid dreams.

A cold winter breeze brushes over your skin, in vain,

Through the trees it seems to call your name.

A large snowflake floats gracefully out of the sky.

You reach out to catch it but it glides swiftly by.

Two deer, a doe and a young fawn,

Seek nourishment on the dark, snowy lawn.

A lone wolf, in the distance, across the dark, bitter lake

Howls the slumbering souls awake.

A blanket of snow glistens in the bright moonlight.

A stunning scene that will, your heart, delight.

Tomorrow is another day,

And this enchanting beauty may all melt away,

But the memories made will forever stay.

A night like ebony, heavy snow on the trees;

A beautiful darkness that inspires vivid dreams.
