I have pierced the surface of life,
To find it filled with strife.
When I entered those I thought to be great,
I found that they were in quit a state.

I found in them anger and sadness as they all walked around like sheep.
What I found about them was their beauty was only skin deep.
I then turned my head away in shame,
And saw those not so popular, that had no fame.

Many of them were much of the same,
But there was a few that to they came.
In them I saw peace and beauty.
I was awed by there divinity.

I returned to the surface,
With an expression of understanding on my face.
I know now that in this world there is beauty left that we need to keep,
And that beauty is not always skin deep.
