I see fire as a source of ispiration and passion. This poem is about the imagination and writing process. I got the idea from Ted Hughes' 'The Thought Fox' - it's an amazing poem :)

Hot embers thread the air around me,

Caressing me with arms of comfort and warmth.

I admire the frantic flickering flames,

My heart swells at its grandeur and beauty.

I’m sat before the fireplace in a hypnotic trance.

Suddenly, sparks of imagination, true inspiration,

From a burning vault of passionate energy,

Relentless, fierce and emotionally charged,

Bottled feelings, locked within the heart,

So I put pen to paper and the words flow out,

A waterfall of self expression,

A balloon ready to explode.

Release the beauty that is

Your inner fire.
