But I shan't deny the lust inspired

by a cluster of princess-cut diamonds,

perfumes that smell of money and petals,

strands of pearls in Chantilly lace,

Wedding bells, a veil lifts off

a painted porcelain face

For every hopeless soul

has the right to distant dreams

From the cradle we are raised

to hope for little, strive for less

You're blessed to have your average life

Only better people get the best

Scars of insecurity and blemishes of doubt

Foetal position, shoulders hunched.

Crying, laughing, all the same.

Please accept me.

Please accept me.

You accepted me.

You wanted the girl with the trampled heart and broken wings

To fix them or crush them, I didn't care

Rationale, logic and sense had tumbled though the window,

together with my heart

Take me, love me, let me lean on you

Let me be enveloped and devoured by

the warmth of your skin under the sheets

the feel of your breath on the nape of my neck

the taste of your urgent mouth as the dawn breaks

through the crack in the curtains

And illuminates two bodies interwoven

Disengaged from time and space

Material things, nice as they can be

what's the point if you're not here with me

The universe, with all its wonder and glory

Let it be a vacuum for all that I care

Feed me with your love, I'm an addict disgraced

Let other people think my faith is misplaced

Their lack of understanding won't make me cry

Only you are my Achilles heel

Loosen my grasp and I fear you'd fly

Show me how being wanted feels.
