Once there lived a rich man, between 30 and 40 years of age.  He had inherited and amassed great wealth due to the financial savvy of his now deceased parents.  This man lived in many a great mansion within many a great countries.  A man who made great contributions to charity through non public channels.  A man who commanded great respect from many business partners.  Anything that money could buy, was at his fingertips. This was a man who lacked nothing… except a partner.  Not a financial partner, for  he had plenty of those.  What he was really missing, was a life partner, someone intimate to share all that wealth with. He had tried all the regular channels, blind dates, online dating, and social gatherings, but he just couldn’t make a connection.  Sure there were plenty of women who had heard of the rich man and many who in fact made the effort to influence and compel the rich man to marry them.  However, the man saw through all their expressions of flattery and slowly started to lose hope of finding his one and only.

When at his lowest he decided to seek help and talk to a therapist. She was an orphan who had been on her own since her early 20s.  Despite her challenging upbringing  she was able to prosper and make a name for herself.  He didn’t think much of her at first but slowly his love for her grew.  He loved the way she carried herself, always smiling, always displaying a positive attitude, always ready to laugh, and always willing to help those in need.  She was someone he had no trouble talking too, whenever the rich man had issues, she was always there to lend an ear, and he to her.  They loved being together and never grew tired of each other. They understood one another completely.  All of these things propelled her to the most beautiful women the rich man had ever laid eyes on

The coalescing of all these qualities compelled the rich man to propose to the woman. She enthusiastically accepted.  They swiftly made preparations and joined in matrimony in a span of 3 months from the proposal date.  A great wedding it was and great, happy moments were shared between the two.  The rich man had finally found his one and only. They lived happily for 2 years.

Then she died.

On September 5,2015 a tumor was discovered in her skull.  This tumor had gone unnoticed for five years, but fortunately only grew slowly. The rich man got the best doctors and medical treatment money could buy.  The date for tumor extraction was quickly set up and carried out.

The operation was a resounding success.  No issues or complications were noted, yet she died.

The rich man awaited her in her hospital room.  As she was brought in the rich man wept tears of joy at the sight of her.  The nurses and doctors quickly left both of them alone in the hospital room.  After several verbal exchanges with her, the man noticed something odd.  She wasn’t responding right, she was responding…… just…not like she used to.  Conversation was breaking frequently, her attitude was off, she rarely laughed anymore, her kind eyes were no longer there.  The rich man assured himself that the sudden change in attitude must be due to her medication, but after he took her home the problems only continued as the weeks went on.

It was as if she was replaced by a completely different person.  Then it hit him.

The woman he had loved so much was dead.  Her attitude, her smile, her laugh, the person who he fell in love with…..was all due to that tumor. The surgery succeeded in preserving her life but destroying the one he fell in love with, the person brought upon by the great mass pushing against her brain and skull.. was dead.

And after that realization…..he was to.
