My mom's best friend died this morning. We went over to the house to console the children and receive visitors who came to pay their condolence. My mom was calm, telling the children and visitors not to cry but pray for her. Suddenly that calm was broken and the advice thrown to the wind. As the body was prepared and ready for burial the moslem way, her huband was told to say goodbye and pray for her along with her children. We all burst into tears as he was brought in. He was very old and blind. He could not walk and had to be held on both sides by his sons. He was alive. He entered the room with their children and prayed for her. He cried. She was his childhood sweetheart and they were grandparents and great-gran parents. God had taken her before him, even though he was one sick and old. One never knows when and who it will come too, regardless of age or one's state of health.
