He straightens his tie, preparing his soul for the words that already ache to escape his lips.
But he stops, right in the very center of the damp, slick road.
Was this the right turn?
Or would it lead to a disaster?

He's unclassified, every single detail about him is new to each person it crosses.
Knowing this, he steps outside his comfort zone and starts across the dark road.
Let is be known, this hasn't happened in forever.
Not for a reason so insane.

He straightens his tie, preparing his soul for the words that already ache to escape his lips.
But he stops, right in the very center of the damp, slick road.
Was this the right turn?
Or would it lead to a disaster?

Blue specks that float around pearl eyes, line his memory.
Hair that spells of melting caramel, spilled over her shoulders like water.
But that memory was quickly replaced by the smell of iron filled blood.
Pools, puddles and trails of it across his mind and he almost needed to breath for the first time in a hundred years.

Gathering his emotions, pulling himself up from the cliff he was still dangling from in his mind...
He stepped with one foot at a time, across the road, knowing his chance would be over if he didn't take it.

Disaster.
Whispering in the back of his mind.
Echoing.

Monster.
Screaming, ringing in his ears he couldn't focus on his previous thoughts.

"Daniel?"
A soft, confused and slightly amused voice came from several feet ahead of him.
Snapping like a rubberband from his deep hell, he looked up.
Smirk lined face, his grass eyes met the woman standing near a black car dressed in red.

Within a moment he was by her side and he felt the skin of her hand on his own.

Second chances.
He reminded himself.

With the grin of a thousand grins he opened her door, before her hand could even begin to start the task.

"Let me."
He whispered, and suddenly it began... his life.
