a poem about not giving into the whispers

My pains whisper behind closed doors
I shut them out and cover up the noise
I wont give in to their pleas,
Calling to me.
Begging to let them in.
To let them consume me
They whisper to me under the door
Telling me that I want to give in.
To break down
To drown in my pain
To feel till i cant bear it
To end it!
All the pain all the hurt
All the suffering inside
"How easy it'll be" they whisper
To just say goodbye
My pains whisper behind closed doors
But that door is locked shut
And they are shut out
And i will live
And one day their whispers will fade
Love will bring to me a new day

I loved the way you signify a door as a barrier, a shield against the pain. And the mind-conflict between wanting to give in or repress/restrain the pain. Nice! :) -Amy
