Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy's little girl

Grew up one summer's day,

And people saw his daughter

In quite a different way,

But Daddy's eyes were clouded

By his visions of the past.

He couldn't see the woman

That she'd become at last.

By the time he saw the woman,

She had children of her own,

And Daddy looked with sadness

At a daughter never known.
