a small portion of a life as a dad.

i can still remember the first day

you started to live you came out of you'r

mom's womb,

so full of life,

 crying like crazy,

it was incredible how you started to

grow every day was different

it seemd you knew you were advancing

as time went by you grew and grew

all of a sudden you have a mind of your own

no more feeding you or changing you'r lil cloths

you did it all on your own,

next thing you know your a grown man,

now you see how these

hands that would hold you to

rock you

to sleep are fragil and old

my face gives signs of true divotion

and my eyes show tiredness

and my walk slowly discribs im at ease,

my son remember my words as im called

to go home be content and never give up,

always be true

love with out expectation

and show your children what i

have shown you.

and this to shale pass.

The title, I just realised, is actually true. It's sad to think that the person you've known since your birth gets to see you growing up, but you have to witness them getting older and older.. and then they're gone. It's weird the way life works, sometimes :S Anyway, I like this; it's quite personal and heart-warming, reading as the father tells us lovingly about his son, then it turns quite sad, at the end, as the growing old part comes into place. The advice was inspiring and, despite the rather sad topic, it was uplifting. Good job, keep writing! :)
