Together.

Two in one and one in two. One carries the burden, the other the weight. The first is strong and the second is weak.

Striving out to touch all the mountains, the strongest wind, undeterred, undertrained. Thick, hard, powerful, all the things I longed for, hoped for, and created with my own two hands.

Hiding in the thickets, a sweet voice sounds out, pure, honest and feeble. Faint, frail and damaged pride, hated, kept, and there from the beginning.

The first allows me to act as I wish, do what I want, more friends than I could hope for, only enemies loathe its perfection and cower in its strength. Going where I have to, straight down a busy trail.

The second shakes as it tries, and second guesses all its moves. Slowly edging forward, sure of whom it cares for, a small group of quiet people. No standing out and following its winding path, detouring and taking dusty roads. No determined route.

One is my favorite whilst the second is rid. Yet, why do I cry each night for the things I shouldn’t have done? Why do I long to reach out to those around me? Why do I wish that someone could save me? Understand me?

Why is there two?

Alone.

One is thick yet thin, a shell, hard yet cold, powerful but unfeeling. Unable to express.

One is faint yet existing, forevermore, frail but not weak, with damaged pride that it doesn’t need. Evergrowing.

Two in one and one in two. I’ll rid the first and shed it’s skin. Because I am strong enough to be myself.

Now I understand, Why there is one.
