NOTE- Personally I don't think that the series is very good compared to my other stories. But my friend Jess and I love to come up with new ideas and situations to throw Hayley and her friends into. This is going to be a 7 part series and we are currently about half way through series 3, bringing in new characters Jessie (who you briefly meet in series 2) and Justin.-

This is the first series of a romantic-comedy about Hayley Todd. In this part you see her break up with her boyfriend Troy. She has a bit of a hard time getting over it, but she soon finds her comedically smug prince charming.

“What do you mean?”
“I mean that my parents have decided to move to America.” He tells me
“And what does that mean for us?”
“Well we both know what they say about long distance relationships…”
“No, it can’t be over between us.” I argue, trying to hold back tears.
“Hayley, it’s not like I asked for this to happen. If I had the choice to stay or go then I would stay here…for you.”
“You shouldn’t choose to stay here for me; you should choose to stay because you want to.”
“I can never win with you! Maybe it’s a good thing that I’m moving.”
“Just go already!”
“Fine!” He said as he stormed off out of my life.
So I’m single again. Why did I even hook up with Troy? He’s just so…so…so…ok so I can’t think of something bad, but that doesn’t mean a thing…at least I don’t think it does. Ah, I know, he only likes black liquorice, I mean red is good too. There, that’s his fault. But he was so cute, with his brown hair and his blue eyes and his muscles and, and, and what the hell am I saying! We broke up! It’s over, we’re done, finished! There is no more…so why can’t I stop thinking about him. It’s just…
“Hayley, snap out of it!”
“Huh? Oh, hey Keira. What’s up?” I manage to say.
“I’m Nicole.”
“Oh, whoops. You two just look so alike.” I say, still appearing to be completely out of it.
“Keira has red hair and I have blonde, how the hell is that alike?” Nicole asks.
“I don’t know…”
“Are you thinking about Troy again?”
“No! We broke up, why would I be thinking about him?”
“Oh, gee, I don’t know, maybe because you’re writing his name all over your book.” She said pointing to the pen and book in my hands.
“I’m so screwed.”
“Why?” Nicole asks bluntly.
“Cause this is my English book and Mr. York hates us writing on them.” I tell her
“Oh. You’re screwed then.” She says mirthfully.
“Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.” I say to her with an unimpressed tone.
“Anytime. It’s been 3 days Hayley; I say it’s time to put you back on the market.” She says.
“What are we doing? Selling me or something?” I ask, confused.
“Oh, come on. We can put make-up on you and put your hair up and…”
“Whoa, hold on a sec, where did the ‘we’ come from? Last time I checked, it was all your idea.”
“We, me; same thing.” She says.
“Right, only in your books though.”
“Hey guys!” Keira says in her usual upbeat tone.
“See, nothing alike.” Nicole says.
“Oh, shut up. Hey Keira.” I say.
“Hi Hayley, Nicole.”
“See, way to perky to be me.” Nicole says again, pointing out the obvious.
“Huh? What are you two talking about?” Keira asks.
“You see, she thought that I was you and…” Nicole began to explain.
“Nicole! Silence!” I yell.
“Was she thinking about Troy again?” Keira asks.
“Yes.” Nicole answers.
“No! There is nothing to think about, we’re over, done, finished. Why is that so hard to understand? Troy and I are never going to appear in the same sentence ever again! Just stop acting like we are going to get back together. It’s over!”
“Hayley stop! Everyone’s staring!” Nicole lividly whispered to me.
“Well they can stare all they like! The sooner everyone realizes that I’m not with Troy anymore, the better.” I shouted.
“Hehehe, excuse us. What the hell are you doing, you’re embarrassing us.” Nicole said, quickly changing her tone.
“Is that all I am? Just one big embarrassment?” I asked her.
“I never said that.”
“But you were thinking it.”
“No I wasn’t.” She rebutted.
“Just leave me alone.”
This is all getting so hard. One break up and I go into psycho mode. Now I’m just walking, not sure where to, but somewhere. I need to know that everything will be ok, cause I hate this feeling, the feeling that everything has just stopped and died. I feel like everyone is staring at me, and they probably are. I mean, wouldn’t you stare at someone that just had a mental breakdown...in front of everyone. But it can’t last forever, can… oooh he’s so cute!
“Hey.” The mysterious boy said.
“Hi, um…hey, I’m uh, uh…Hayley, hehe…” I stammered.
“Right…I’m Seb.”
“Cool, uh is that short for Sebastian?” I asked him awkwardly.
“No, it’s short for Sebine.” He replied.
“What parent names their child ‘Sebine’, that’s like cruelty, hehehe.”
“Well it’s better than naming a child Ergan.” He told me.
“Is that your real name? Ergan?” I asked, trying not to laugh.
“Yeah, but I think Sebine’s way cooler.” He said smugly.
“Couldn’t you pick something normal, like, Phil or George or…” I began.
“Troy?” Nicole interrupted.
“No Nicole! I have no feelings left for Troy.” I told her.
“Right and that’s why you…” she began.
“Hey look, there’s a shoe sale.” I lied.
“Sale? I’m there.” She said as she began to run in the direction I pointed in.
“Friend of yours?” Seb asked.
“Yeah. That’s Nicole.”
“And who’s Troy?”
“My ex.” I said softly.
“Oh.”
“I have no feelings left for him though, nothing, nadir, zero.”
“Right. You wanna catch a movie later?” he asked me.
“Your asking me, a mental wreck?” I said.
“What?” he asked.
“Nothing.” I quickly replied.
“Ok. So do you wanna go or not?”
“Sure.” I said.
“Great, see you at seven?”
“Ok.”
We walked away from each other; I returning to Keira, he… well I don’t know where he was going.
“Keira!” I called.
“Yeah?”
“I got a date tonight.” I said excitedly.
“With who?” She asked.
“Seb.”
“Who’s that?”
“That guy over there, with the blonde hair and gorgeous smile. I think he’s new.” I replied.
“You know, it could just be a sympathy date.” Nicole pointed out as she returned to us.
“How?”
“Cause he probably feels sorry for you after your mental breakdown about Troy.” She told me.
“Nicole, it wasn’t a mental breakdown, it was an emotional outburst. And besides, he didn’t even know about Troy or the…”
“Breakdown.” Nicole said.
“…Emotional outburst.” I enforced.
“Whatever, just never lie about a shoe sale again.” She ordered.
“Fine.”
So I have a date…with the cutest guy ever! Seb, hmmm, he seems so mysterious. I want to go up to him, rip open his heart and find out what secrets he is hiding. I wonder if Troy has had a date now that we have broken up. I’ll kill him if he has. I guess he does have another fault, there is someone cuter than him…and that person is Sebine. There, now I have two reasons not to like him. I wonder why Seb asked me out. Surely it’s not sympathy…is it?
Great it’s 7:01, he’s not coming, I’ve been stood up! I can’t believe him! Asks me on a date and doesn’t even show up, Troy never did…oh hehe, the doorbell.
“Hi Blondie.” Seb said.
“Blondie?” I asked, puzzled at why he called me this.
“Yeah, it’s your new name, so much cooler than Hayley.” He answered.
“Is it now?” I say, eyebrows raised.
“Yep.” He says smugly, a smile creeping onto his face.
“Well if you say so.”
The movie was great. I totally forgot about Troy. We ate popcorn and laughed all night. I now have a third fault for Troy, he never took me to a movie. I guess he isn’t as perfect as I thought he was.
“So…” I say.
“So, I guess your not as bad a date as I thought you’d be.”
“Me? A bad date? No way Seb…or should I say Ergan.” I teased.
“Oh your gonna pay Blondie.”
He chased me and managed to get hold of me. He swung me around and put me on my doorstep, something that Troy never did. Then he kissed me, softly, hardly at all, but it was still a kiss. Troy never did that. That is now 5 faults.
“Have a nice night Blondie.” He said, making his way down the cobble stone path.
“You too Seb.”
If that boy has any faults, first dates certainly wouldn’t be one of them. He didn’t take things too fast, the first part was like hanging out with friends, but the second was kinda romantic. That is definitely how all first dates should end.

…On The Phone…
“Nicole he was awesome. That was definitely not a sympathy date.”
“Did he kiss you?”
“Yeah.”
“On the cheek or the lips?”
“On the lips. What does it matter?”
“Well if he kissed you on the cheek, it means he had an ok time and it was about as good as sympathy dates could be, and if it was a kiss on the lips then that meant it was no sympathy date and that he had a great time.”
“So he had a great time.”
“Yep.”
“Now what do I do?”
“Well since it’s ten and we have a test tomorrow, I’d say you should go to bed.” She said.
“I meant about Troy.” I said.
“What?” she questioned in a surprised tone.
“I mean Seb. Troy was a slip of the tongue.”
“Well let’s just hope that you don’t have any ‘slips of the tongue’ when your with Seb.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“K, bye.”
…At School…
“Yo, Blondie.” Seb called
“Hey Sebine.” I say.
“So how were your dreams about me last night?” he asked, smug tone as usual.
“What makes you think that I was dreaming about you?” I questioned.
“Well you had a great date with me last night, fell head of heels for me and now you can’t stop thinking about me.”
“Are you always this smug?” I ask him.
“Ah, avoiding the question. I was right, as usual.”
“No you weren’t. And for your information, I didn’t dream about you last night or anything else for that matter.” I reply.
“Actually you did dream about something.”
“Huh? That makes no sense.” I say.
“You see, when you have a dream, the only way you’ll remember it is if you wake up with-in fifteen minutes of having it.” He says.
“How do you know that?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“Why not?”
“Cause if I did, I’d have to kill you, and that would mean that I’d have to clean up the mess that your blood and guts would make.” He joked.
“That’s smug and…very gross.” I said.
“Good.”
“Well as long as your enjoying yourself…Ergan.” I teased.
“That’s Sebine to you Hayley.”
“And that’s Blondie to you. So…”
“So…do you wanna kiss me again?” Seb asked.
“Why would I kiss you?”
“No reason, maybe just because you want to.”
“Who said I want to?” I asked.
“I do.”
“Always smug Seb, always smug.”
“See, you changed the topic. I was right.” He smugly said.
“What ever you think.”
“That’s right. I’ll catch ya later Blondie.” He said.
Oooh! I love it when he smiles. He just makes me melt inside. And the best thing is I have thought of more faults for Troy. Oooh! He is so cute! I wonder what he is hiding behind that smile of his. And why does he always let his hair cover his eyes?
…Lunch…
“Hey Sebine.” I say.
“Hi Blondie.”
“Can I ask you something?” I ask him.
“You just did.” He replies.
“Well can I ask you something else?”
“You did that too.” He said.
“Seb!” I yell.
“What do you wanna ask me?”
“How did you come up with the name ‘Blondie’? I’m not that dumb, am I?” I ask him.
“You’re not dumb. I call you that because you have the blondest hair that I have ever seen.”
“Awww, Seb. Come here.” I say sweetly.
He did as I asked, and then I kissed him. Not too passionately, but not too soft either, just right. He came back for more, but then he broke apart.
“I told you that you wanted to kiss me again.” He said smugly.
“You are so…” I began.
“Smug?”
“Yes.” I answered.
“Well at least we can be sure of one thing.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well everyone is probably sure that you have gotten over your mental breakdown.” He said.
“You knew about that?” I asked him.
“Yeah. I saw it happen. I never knew a girl could be that…” He started.
“Unique?” I implied.
“…Psycho.” He corrected.
“Oh. Well breakdowns don’t last forever.” I say.
“Obviously…”
And with that said, he kissed me again. I am positive that I am over Troy. He wasn’t as great as I thought, and Seb proved that. He may have known about my breakdown, but he didn’t hold it against me, something that no other guy would have ever done. I don’t think that breaking up with Troy was the end, I just think that it was the start of the next chapter of my life. A chapter that wouldn’t be complete without Mr. Smug. And he will definitely be in my dreams tonight…
