This is another poem about my current state of mind (though a little dramatic, I admit.) It's for anyone who's ever felt blocked off from themselves, like they're lost in their own mind.

There are walls around me

Everywhere

Closing in

I try to break out

Find myself again

But these walls are unbreakable

I see your face through them

Calling my name

But I cannot come

I'm trapped

Can't you see?

These walls have closed too tight

And they will not let me go

Slicing off a piece of me every day

That I try to convince myself is still there

They take back words I never said but would have

They watch me like hungry wolves

Ready to attack if I dare try to find myself again

And now you turn around, tired of me not coming

And you walk farther and farther away

Until I cannot see you anymore

You've faded into the mists and fogs of my mind

There are walls all around me

Everywhere

Will they ever let me go?
