It's a slow wildfire;
A creeping ice.
The way you make me tremble,
Every day and lonely night.
You pull me close,
Yet push me away
And make me question what
I should believe.

Do I sicken you?
Or should I myself be sick.
Sick of your kisses,
Or the way your fingers feel
Laced with mine.

Should I question while your away,
If those same fingers are entwined
With another red-nailed girl
With longer legs
Blonder hair
And brighter eyes?

Is my heart enough,
Or just a fraction?
Is it that when I'm here,
Your heartbeat increases,
But once my face is gone;
Another girl fills my shadow.

Do you think of me in the night?
Am I in your dreams or nightmares
As the girl with a silent scream
Invisible tears
And a beautiful face?

Or am I altogether
Invisible?
Do I mean nothing?
Something?

Please, tell me anything
To make me understand.
Should I tremble for you,
Or because of you?
