Deep thinking often leads to this...

As children of this generation
We inherit a broken world,

In which the weight of undoing the damage that's been done
Settles onto our shoulders,

And once we're gone
Our attempts ringing hollow,

All we can do is pass the torch onto the ones who succeed us
in hopes that it stays lit.

The poem is nice and true. Though the last one seemed to lose its edge--like poetic essence if you know what I mean. Keep writing!!

This poem definitely shows the truth. Each generation certainly has a responsibility to care for the world. Let's hope our generation's attempts do not ring hollow.
