Arthur never wanted this. He never meant to fall for another man. Julian was the only one for him. Arthur never expected that one accidental slip of the lips, would lead to the affair. But he certainly never expected the affair to lead to this...

This is a companion story to Insomnia; done by an old friend of mine. Here's the link, Enjoy!

The feeling of longing wouldn't leave my mind. Why won't he come back? I thought to myself, more tears poured from my eyes. I wiped the streams from my face with my sleeve. My eyes once again traveled to his broken body that lay limp on the stiff, hospital bed. The bandages wrapped around his abdomen and most of his head were drenched with dark crimson blotches, though the rest of his body was only cover with gashes and dark purple bruises. He's so broken. Will he ever come back? I let my head once again, fall into my hands.
For some reason, I couldn't help but blame myself. Even though, I knew very well there was nothing I could've done to stop the drunk driver. Sobs rattled my chest uncontrollably. \"Why?\" I whispered to myself.Try to reach him again. I urged myself. I willed my legs to sluggishly stand, and walk over to the bedside. That night suddenly flashed to the forefront of my mind. The longing vanished.
The cold, winter night air was bitter and crisp. My breath escaped my lips as deep, smoky billows and wisps. The tears still lingering on my face felt frozen .I gazed out the wide-open bedroom window. I didn't mean to give into that man Julian, please believe me. I thought sadly to myself. I raised my glove to wipe away the tears. Hearing the front door slam, I looked out of our bedroom doorway. I slowly strode down the steps, reaching the front door I looked through the clear stained glass windowpane. Julian slid into his small sports car. Tears ran down his beautiful face, practically mirroring mine. He slid the key into the ignition and the engine roared to life. I opened the front door. \"Julian, don't. It's late. At least wait until morning 'till you leave.\" I called out to him. Julian winced at the sound of my voice. \"No, Arthur I just- I need room to think.\" I winced as he slammed the door, and backed out of the driveway. I watched the red taillights travel down the road, but I heard the horrible screech of tires and the crunch of metal on metal before… I saw the collision. \"Julian!\" I all but screeched into the cold, winter night air.

Another sob racked my chest. I knelt beside the bed, leaning close to him. \"Julian.\" I said aloud, waiting, no answer. I sighed and continued. \"It's Z- Arthur.\" I waited. Silence. \"I know you probably hate me… but I need you.\" I intertwined my fingers with his, non-responsive hand. \"You've been gone for so long.\" No response. \"I know you're there,\" My voice wavered on the last word, almost choking as the tears came back. I was speaking so softly. \"so please come back.\" I waited. After three breaths, Julian's eyes fluttered.
They opened slowly, looking up around the room the slowly they fluttered closed, and Julian once again became still. \"NO!\" I cried out, tears spilling over and coming down like pouring rain. My head fell forward to onto his chest, crying softly into it. \"Come back…\" I spoke softly. Then, Julian's chest rumbled. His soft, sweet voice spoke out ever so quietly. \"Insomnia. God. I hate it.\"He stilled, once again, trapped in his forever-deep sleep. Will he ever come back? The feeling of longing returned.

Very sad but truly nice story. I gotta say, you're pretty "amazing" for having posted numerous writings in one day. If you keep this up you'll find yourself reaching the moon, on foot. hahahah okay maybe i'm joking.

Are you actually 21 but pretend to be 14, or the other way around? Just out of curiosity. Well done!!

nice job. You were able to really get down to an emotional core there. It is difficult for the reader to remain unattached. whew!

Thank-you! :)) that's my favorite part about doing these types of stories, getting down to the emotional core of a character, basically laying them bare. ^.^
