Burning Grief

I lay awake, the countless nights

I think of that boy

his face stained with red

I cannot go to bed

he cried out to me

" Please sir, not me"!

His cry of terror a vivid memory

my daughter just stares when i break out in tears

She does not know, what dady did over there

they told me the nightmares would pass with time

but i still see the boy, I still see the crime

So i pray to god, werever he may be

" dear lord, forgive me"

But there is no reply

I condemmed that boy to die

and yet I still see his eyes....

buring grief
