These two paragraphs are ones I wrote awhile ago. It really isn't a story, but I figured I would share. It gets you thinking.

We follow what we think is right; if there's fire, our first instinct is to put it out. Yet, if we try, there's a possibility we'll get burned. So why do we risk it? Is it because it's our instinct? I believe it's because it's what we truly believe in. We risk being burned to put out the fire so no one else gets hurt. We don't follow our instinct, we follow our hearts. We all know we can't follow our hearts blindly, because if we give our hearts too much credit, they might just mislead us.

Our mind has no heart; our heart has no eyes. If we follow our mind, there's a chance that we could hurt somebody without having the heart to realize. If we follow our heart, there's a good chance we'll stumble blindly upon things that we shouldn't have found.
